Ambra turned to yoga to heal from many injuries that were a consequence of her intense dancing career as a principal ballerina at Birmingham Royal Ballet. Her dancing knowledge allows her today to help performers and athletes to rethink their traditional training regimes and introduce yoga to drive better performance and increase their enjoyment of sport and performance.

This class is a fusion of vinyasa yoga styles that brings postures of the Primary, Intermediate and Advance Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa. It is a dynamic and fast-paced flow of yoga, where practitioners are encouraged to modify postures, and make their own interpretation of the traditional asana if needed.
With the promise to get your heartbeats going, this class is full of upper body strengthening with inversions and tons of back bending and spinal twists to invigorate and awaken the nervous system.

Saturday 9.00 – 11.00:
ROCK YOUR BALANCE (All levels)
Spend a morning replacing your feet with your hands, and learn the essentials to help you soar in arm balancing such as crane, crow, one legged crow, side crow, flying pigeon, dragonfly, firefly, forearm stands and many of their variations.
In this class we will explore the foundations and key alignment principles of arm balances and play with the techniques that serve to lengthen and strengthen the muscles required to successfully find your balance whilst maintaining lightness in the body. For those practitioners who are more advanced, we will introduce a variety of fun and challenging ways to transition to the next level. This is all about learning how to play with your body and enjoy the process of reaching new heights!
Saturday 11.30 – 13.30:
UNLOCK THE SHOULDERS inspired by FORREST YOGA (All levels)
Do you suffer with habitual tightness and tension in your shoulders, neck and upper back, or suffer repetitive-strain injuries as a result of your working practices? If you do, this workshop is for you! We will dive deep into how to create freedom in your shoulders, neck and upper back, through the use of focussed breath and Forrest inspired Yoga poses.
You will safely learn to unlock these habitual tension spots by lengthening the key muscles around the joints to create space and ease of movement.
Bringing focus and intelligence to these ‘problem’ areas will help you to glide through your life with grace, poise and freedom and a greater sense of spaciousness; a must for anyone shackled to a desk during the daytime, anyone active but suffering injury and anyone who walks through life with habitual tension in their neck, shoulders and upper back, in fact, ANYONE!

SAFE, INTELLIGENT & COMFORTABLE BACKBENDS (All levels)
Learn to backbend with ease and freedom, decompress the spine and feel rejuvenated. Whether you are a backbend lover or hater, this is the workshop for you.
This first part of the workshop will be dedicated to learn the strengthening techniques for the core, legs and bandhas in order to create a stable and safe base for your backbend practice.
The second part will concentrate on increasing the flexibility of the shoulders, chest, hip flexors and spine to deepen our backbend. We will learn to use our breath and fundamental alignment techniques to achieve a healthy, deep beautiful backbend. We will break down the different components of the backbends and explore safe variations of these wonderful poses.
Sunday 11.30 – 13.30:
HIPPY HIPS (All levels)
Many of us hold a great deal of tension, emotions, and stress in the hips. Emotions are energy. When they are not released, they became stuck energy in the body that can morph into tightness or pain. Additionally by spend the majority of our days standing, sitting and driving, our hips lose mobility and become tight and tense.
Tight hamstrings and hips can contribute to problems with the lower back and knees. They can also be a source of huge frustration for yoga practitioners as elements of their practice may feel restricted, particularly forward bends, floating into inversions, moving into lotus and putting the legs behind the head.
This workshop is designed for anyone who wants to increase their flexibility through the hips and hamstrings. We will begin to delve into the hip-flexors, hips and hamstrings through a hip-opening Forrest inspired practice. We will explore postures that aid in increasing the mobility of the pelvis, loosening the hamstrings and opening the hips.
This workshop will include a deeper exploration into “peak” poses, and conclude with a guided deep relaxation to get rid of any tension left in the body and make you feel rested and re-energised.
